The Etobicoke Eagles are flying high and ready for football.

The Eagles are back and ready for a great season of football. With a strong team they hope to show their dominance off in the OVFL this season. The large team is well developed and has their sights on a championship for the city.

This year the team has a roster of 50 players giving the team depth, versatility and the potential for a big season. The Eagles have been practicing hard this season and think they have a championship caliber team ready for anything the competition can throw at them. They offer a lot of depth on both sides of the ball and have many skilled players all over the field. 18 rookies joined the team this year and are looking to earn a starting role for the Eagles.

The Eagles pride themselves on a very good group of players this year. With strong players on both sides of the ball, the Eagles are ready to show the OVFL that they are a team that won’t go down quietly. The city has produced a handful of star athletes that are proud to call themselves Eagles this season. Be sure to watch for big plays on both sides of the ball this year as the Eagles push for the title.

Offensively, the Eagles may have two of the best receivers in the OVFL this season. Nathaniel Pinto and Trae Chisholm-Lyn will be the go to targets for the Eagles this season. The two players have plenty of experience together as they also suit up for the same school. Downsview Secondary School was lead to a Toronto Tier 2 Championship with the great gameplay of these two future stars. Pinto has electrifying speed and great football knowledge. He is a consistent player that always makes an impact on the field. Trae may be a candidate for the player with the best hands in the league this season. He makes catches that other players would simply not be able to adjust to. His stellar leadership on and off the field has made him a true asset to the team.

Immanuel Archer is another offensive threat for the Eagles this season. The receiver from Lakeshore Collegiate has incredible speed and can stretch the field at any time. He is a big threat on special teams and someone the opposition should try keeping the ball away from. He makes big plays out of nothing and can use his amazing speed to be a big playmaker. All three of these receivers are still on the market for post-secondary institutes, but have plenty of interest from a handful of Canadian universities.

Defensively the team is just as strong or stronger. With stellar athletes in all positions, the defense is looking for big stops and turnovers at all times. They have some true leaders and great knowledge on the defense this year. Watch for lots of big plays coming from the Eagles this season.

Mahad Bouraleh is one of the defensive captains this year and their strongest defensive lineman. He is a born leader and always leaves it all on the field. His size and speed makes him a difficult player to stop for any offensive line. He gives it 100% from the start of the game, until that final whistle. He played for the Richview Saints High School last season and recently committed to playing with the York Lions.

On the outside, the Eagles have Shaq Munroe, their lockdown corner. Playing at Etobicoke Collegiate, Shaq brings some of the best coverage skills in the OVFL. He has tremendous football knowledge and footwork. A real play maker who influences the defense and often gives them the spark needed to excel. Shaq will be playing his university ball with the Guelph Gryphons this coming season.

Finally, the Eagles have a tremendous all-around player, Jordon Bell. Also a member of the Saints, Jordan is able to play defensive end or any linebacker position. He adds depth and versatility to the defense and can fill in wherever he is needed most. He is fundamentally a sound football player dedicated to his craft. The Guelph Gryphons have also secured Jordon for their upcoming season.

The team looks to be strong in all aspects of the game. With a strong, powerful running game, the can go toe to toe with the best in the league. They have two of the fastest receiver in the league making their passing game just as dangerous. Along with a very fast and intelligent defense, the Eagles will be a team focused on one goal. They have big play making capability and are ready to contend for a playoff position. Their speed, strength and youth will no doubt give them the competitive advantage necessary to excel in the OVFL.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
