WATERLOO, Ont. (February 16, 2017) – Wilfrid Laurier University men’s football head coach Michael Faulds has announced that Will Finch, a former quarterback with the Western Mustangs, has been hired as the Golden Hawks quarterback coach.

Finch, who played with the Mustangs from 2012 until 2015, finished his career 22nd on the U SPORTS career passing yards list with 8243 yards while throwing 57 touchdowns. He’s also one of only seven quarterbacks to ever throw for more than 3000 yards in a single season, accomplishing the feat back in 2013 when he threw for 3047 yards, the fifth most in U SPORTS history.
“I am extremely excited to bring in a quarterback like Will Finch,” commented Faulds on the addition to his coaching staff. “Will knows all quarterbacking fundamentals inside and out and he will greatly help our group of QB’s. This will allow me more freedom to concentrate on how our system is being executed.”

“I have known Will for many years and got the opportunity to coach him at Team World, Team Canada and East/West Bowl,” added Faulds. “It would be hard to find a more humble and better character individual.”

Since finishing his career at Western, Finch has gone on to establish Finch Performance, a quarterback coaching business out of Burlington, Ont., that focuses on the four pillars of development at the position: Biomechanics, Functional Strength, Cognition and Nutrition. He is also a member of the Burlington Stampeders organization and is actively coaching at Nelson High School.
