Edmonton Wildcats add 3X Grey Cup Champion as Defensive Line Coach

Coming off back to back losing seasons, the Wildcats made significant changes to our coaching changes this year. Alumnus Andy Pilon who most recently coached for the Salisbury Sabres took over as the Offensive Coordinator. Joining him on the other side of the ball, from the Bev Facey Falcons is Donovan Obenaeur. Two more alumni, Keaton Hoddinott and Chris Dobko also joined the coaching staff working with the Linebackers and Receivers respectively.

The newest addition to the coaching staff is 3X Grey Cup Champion and former Eskimo, Andrew Jones. Andrew played one year of Junior before becoming a CIS All-Canadian at McMaster University. He switched over to the Offensive Line when he entered the CFL and turned that into a nine year career with stops in B.C, Saskatchewan, and Edmonton before retiring.

ā€œAndrew will be working with our Defensive Line and will provide a wealth of knowledge and passion to his playersā€, says Head Coach Darcy Park of the new addition.

The Wildcats kick off our season in Calgary on August 12 at McMahon Stadium at 7pm. This is followed by another road trip to Regina, with the home opener being on August 26th against the Winnipeg Rifles.

Both Coach Park and Coach Jones are available for interviews at request.
