Edmonton Eskimos Trade with Calgary; Selects U of T Prospect (video)

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Eskimos have traded the playing rights to non-import defensive lineman Brian Bulcke to Calgary in exchange for the Stampeders second round selection (14th overall) in the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft. Edmonton used the pick to select University of Toronto defensive back Hugo Lopez.

Lopez (6-3,196 lbs) played three seasons at Waterloo (2007-09) before transferring to Toronto where he posted 22 tackles and one interception in his one season with the Varsity Blues.

Edmonton selected Brian Bulcke out of Stanford with the sixth overall pick in the 2010 CFL Draft.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
