Dream now reality after LB joins Stingers family

Concordia welcomes Québec commit to their Class of 2017.

Maxime Grenier, a linebacker from Cégep Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, has had a lifelong love affair with the Concordia Stingers, so it is only fitting that he will be suiting up for them in the fall.

“When I was young, my grandfather took me to see some games of the Stingers. Since that, I was loving this team and now that I had to make a choice between Bishop’s and Concordia, I for sure choose Concordia” he said.

Having spent three seasons with Les Géants du Cégep St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (RSEQ Division 1), Grenier is ready to ramp up his game. And what better place to do so than at the U Sports level?

“The coaches at Concordia are really good and I think they could be a good factor for getting me to another level,” Grenier said. “Coach Patrick Donovan will for sure be a good coach for me as a defensive player. I think I will have an opportunity to establish myself with them.”

Standing at 6’2, 200lbs, Grenier is interested in taking Administration. He said he also chose Concordia because he wants to study in English and become a better speaker of the language. He will be heading west to Montréal from his small community of Marieville, Québec.

“I want thank the coaching staff from Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu for helping me to become the player I am,” Greiner said. “Without them, I would not be able to play for Concordia.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
