Yanda began playing football in 2008 as a member of theĀ Coquitlam Raiders, playing for the Raiders through the 2009 season and earning the mostĀ improvedĀ player award for his 2009Ā campaign.

In his first season with the Raiders Yanda helped the team capture a league championship and has fond memories of a botched last second field goal that sealed the championship for Coquitlam.

In 2010 Yanda began his career with the Terry Fox Ravens of Port Coquitlam where he continues to play, entering his final year with the team. For his most recent season’s effort Yanda received honors as the top grade 11 player on the team.

Yanda credits past coachĀ Carey Lapa, who passed awayĀ suddenlyĀ in 2011, as the greatest on-field influence on his development. Like so many minor football players Yanda recognizesĀ and appreciates the role his parents have had in his success on and off the field saying, “they always give me advice and only wish for the best for me.”

Yanda tries to replicate the attitude of another Raven, the late great Ray Lewis previously of the Baltimore Ravens. “I try to replicate the intensity, love, and respect he had for the game,” says Yano.

Yanda certainly has the size and attitude to excel at the next level wherever he plays.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
