The funny thing about football is that, at one point in time, the game was foreign to all of us. Some gravitate to the sport from a young age and canāt wait to strap on a helmet, while others may not realize their true potential until somebody introduces them to the game. For St. Andrewās College defensive linemen Cayne Lander, his story follows the latter. After spending his days as a youth playing rugby, it wasnāt until Head Coach Len Gurr was sniffing around for talent that Lander recognized the damage he could do with some equipment on. In his grade nine year, Gurr reached out to his parents to extend an invitation to the Saintsā varsity training camp, and since that day the name Lander and football have become synonymous at St. Andrewās College.
