Mohannad made his debut in grade nine for the Timberlea Titans of the Nova Scotia Minor Football Association (NSMFA).

He just completed his Grade 11 year with Charles P Allen Cheetahs of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).

When the Cheetahs standout made the move from Syria to Nova Scotia, it gave him the opportunity to play on the gridiron.  He immediately fell in love with the sport.

“I am originally Syrian, from a city named Homes,” explains Mohannad.  “I am an Arab that loves the game and will play it as long as I can.”

His most memorable moment from last season was a near interception.

“I almost had a pick, and since I play nose that’s a great thing because I barely get to touch the ball,” he says.

Throughout his life and career, Mohannad has been influenced by people who have made their way through the ranks and worked hard to achieve success.

“I really look up to all the people who started small and ended up big,” the Cheetahs standout says.

Mohannad says he will be very busy playing on Nova Scotia’s under-18 team but will continue putting the work in the gym.

“I train on my own at the gym, I do lots of weight lifting an also do lots of explosive get off (the line) drills,” the Cheetahs lineman explains. “I am really trying to bulk up and get some muscle mass.”
