Committing to the UofS Huskies an honour says commit

Huskies add a commit from the City of Regina to their Class of 2018.

Solomon Dreger, an offensive lineman from Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School, has not been playing football for very long, but his impressive play was enough to catch the eyes of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

Having only hit the gridiron for three years, Dreger’s career length is considerably short. He started playing in grade ten with the Sheldon-Williams Collegiate Spartans (Regina High Schools Athletic Association). Now, he currently plays with the Riffel Royals (RHSAA).

Hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan, Dreger will be trekking north up Highway 11 to Saskatoon to play with the Huskies. “I decided to commit to the U of S because of the great atmosphere, it is close to home and the athletics are good,” Dreger said.

“I really like the coaches. They seem to be a really good group of people that I connected with well,” he added.

The 6’4, 290lbs guard and tackle will be taking business at the Edwards School of Business.

While he is far from a long-term veteran of the sport, Dreger is looking forward to adding another five years to his career. “I am very honoured and humbled to be given the opportunity to play football at the next level,” Dreger said. “I am proud to be committed to the Huskies.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
