Close to home (VIDEO)

End of September ushers in Moose Jaw lineman as CWUAA team’s first recruit for 2014 class.

A CWUAA team has landed their first recruit for the 2014 season.

Yesterday, Braydon Johnson committed to the Regina Rams.  The 6’3, 285 pound offensive lineman from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan said that it came down to academic, football and personal reasons why he decided to remain in his home province.

“I chose Regina because of their policing program,” explained the Saskatchewan offensive lineman. “Their offensive line coach is outstanding and it’s close to home.”

“They’ve been nothing but good to me ever since I’ve been in contact with them. I trust them and I believe I’ve set myself up to be very successful for the next four to five years with my career also with football. They’ve got a young team and a bunch of my under-18 friends and players are going there as well. I will be surrounded my love and support. Basically I’m getting everything I’m asking for.”

Most recently, Braydon has suited up for his high school team, Central Collegiate Cyclones of the Moose Jaw High School Football League (MJHSFL).  Additionally, the offensive lineman represented his home province as a member of Team Saskatchewan at the 2013 Football Canada Cup in Moncton, New Brunswick.
