Looking at the future of football, its comforting to know that there are many young players in the country doing great things, and Tre Nicholson is no exception to that. The Eastwood Collegiate Institute student is making a name for himself with impressive after impressive season, running over his competition and putting up numbers that are turning heads.

His first stint with football brought him to the TC Warhawks. From there, Nicholson went to the TC Predators, and is finally producing for his school, Eastwood Collegiate Institute in Kitchener,Ontario. Nicholson has also been apart of the 2011-2012 GHR Rising Star squad.

While playing for these teams, Nicholson has racked up many awards and acclamations that have let him stand out amongst his peers. In his 2010-2011 season, Nicholson was named Junior Football MVP. That same year, he was also named Junior Athlete of the year for his school. Nicholson has also experienced success in the form of a championship when he won the WCSSAA Football Championship last season.

Winning said championship was important for Nicholson as it stands out as one of his great feats, but in his eyes he knows how important it is for his school as well. “Biggest accomplishment would probably have to be winning my first major championship, coming from Eastwood not really a football school anymore, It was a big deal for Me, the school, and the team.” Like a true running back however, Nicholson knows that all his plays couldn’t be possible without the help of a couple blocks. “I have to give a big shout out to my fullback for helping me hit four big ones in the big show.”

Like many young players, Nicholson’s dreams are to make it big one day. “My dream would honestly have to be going to the big league someday. Going from nothing to something is almost everyone’s dream.” Skilled yet humble, the athletic running back is aware of the gift he has been given. “I was blessed with a nature ability and talent to be a good ball player and i’m thankful for it, but it’s important that I keep working on the skills that I lack so I can live my dream.”

With still a couple years of high school to go, staying focused is the most important part, and Nicholson knows exactly what he wants. “Hopefully when i graduate I could go down south and continue playing bal at a D1 or D2 school, or even CIS just to continue running the ball and making a name for myself.”
