Reiner started his football career in grade 8, playing wide receiver for West Vancouver secondary school. He transferred to Vancouver College (VC) part way through his grade 10 year. He played 2 years for the VC Varsity team, starting at inside receiver and also performed the kicking duties. Both 2009 and 2010 he was awarded Western conference all-star at receiver. In 2010 he was awarded ‘best-back’ award in the Archbishop’s Cup (VC vs. Notre Dame) game.

In 2010 Reiner led the province with 690 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns.

His most memorable football experience:
“Without a doubt was winning the provincial championship against the unbeaten #1 ranked Terry Fox Ravens. Second to that would be winning the 2009 Archbishop’s Cup after trailing 12-0 at half, I had a 74 yard TD reception late in the game to give us momentum and we ended up winning 14-12.”

Reiner’s most influential people in his football career have been VC head coach and receiver coach, Bernett & Martinka. “Just as important, my quarterback, #17 Jeff Tichelman, he really helped me understand VC’s offensive system and allowed me to showcase my talents.”

Reiner is looking to study business and/or arts in university while pursuing his athletic goals. He is a dual-sport athlete who also plays basketball at a very high level. Reiner is still undecided which sport to play in university…if not both.

Finally, and maybe most importantly, Reiner was a VC ‘president’s honour society (honour roll) in grade 10 and 11 for achieving an overall GPA greater than 90%.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
