Jacob has always been a ‘big’ kid and football has been a ‘natural’ progression in his sports career. He has been playing for 7 years, in the Nova Scotia minor league, Varsity league, high school league, and the Football Canada Cup. In peewee football his team won the provincial and Eastern Canadian championships and was awarded rookie of the year and defensive MVP. As mentioned above he was the Nova Scotia high school MVP and was game MVP of game 1 in the Football Canada Cup and was a defensive all star.

He also competed in Box Lacrosse for Team Nova Scotia and as a Midget and Bantam. In 2007 he competed for Team Nova Scotia Volleyball team (U15). The past 3 years he has competed in Shot Put and Discus and in grade 10 he was rookie of the year for the high school basketball team.

His most memorable experience was winning game one at the Football Canada cup versus Alberta. “It was almost surreal, the fans were cheering so loud, but the noise seemed far off into the distance. I think it was like an out of body experience; there is nothing like making your province proud.”

His most influential people in his life is his family. “Not just my immediate family, but my grandparents, my 12 aunts and Uncles, and my 14 cousins. We see each other and support each other like no other family I know.”

Not just an athlete, Jacob also has a creative side, loving to draw, paint and sculpt. He cannot wait for his trip to Greece and Italy this February break.
