Clan falls to Central Washington

The SFU Clan football (0-5, 0-3) team fell 62-0 to the Central Washington Wildcats (5-0, 3-0) on Saturday afternoon.

Ellensburg, WA – The SFU Clan football (0-5, 0-3) team fell 62-0 to the Central Washington Wildcats (5-0, 3-0) on Saturday afternoon in Washington in Great Northwest Athletic Conference football action.

Quarterback Miles Richardson finished 8-of-23 for 51 yards and four interceptions. Richardson was under fire all afternoon, taking six sacks and losing a net of 29 yards on the ground.

Freshman Jethro Questad led the Clan on the ground, tallying 17 yards on three carries. Nathan Kyeame added 14 yards on eight totes.

Brendan Lowry (two solo, seven assisted) and Shea Carstens (three solo, six assisted) paced the SFU defense with nine total tackles apiece, each adding half a sack.

CWU Quarterback Reilly Hennessy picked apart the Clan secondary, going 21-of-33 for 188 yards and five touchdowns. Three of Hennessy’s touchdown tosses went to wideout Nate Rauda, who also racked up 72 yards on his six catches.

The Wildcats got 100-yard performances out of both Christian Cummings (183 yards) and Austin Pernell (101 yards, one TD), totalled 382 yards as a team, notching three total scores in the ground game.

SFU will return home next week as they prepare to host the Western Oregon Wolves (1-3, 0-2) at Terry Fox Field. The Clan and Wolves will kick off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.
