CJFL SEASON PREVIEW: Westshore Rebels (VIDEO)

They’ve retooled and recruited heavily

The Westshore Rebels enter the 2016 with renewed energy and a number of new recruits.Ā  Head coach JC Boice enters his second year and feels more comfortable finding the needs for his team.Ā  That said, Boice has some major weapons returning like quarterback Ashton McKinnon and defensive lineman James Bradley.

The Rebels were able to beef up their offensive line and will now feature at least three players at 6ā€™5 and over 280 pounds, making a commitment to run the football.

ā€œWe still have a lot of work to do, but we accomplished a lot in the 2016 off season,ā€ says Boice.Ā  ā€œWe opened a 21,000 explosive movement facility dedicated to the Rebels Football Program and Westshore Community Athletes.Ā  The facility has full athlete therapy, 55′ x 120′ of artificial turf, and 35,000 in weights and explosive movement equipment.ā€

The Rebels open the season at home against the Langley Rams on Sunday at 4:00pm at Westhills Stadium.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
