CIS Game of the Week (8): Axemen host Mounties in Homecoming clash

TORONTO (CIS) – Playoff implications will be on the line Saturday as the CIS Football Game of the Week heads to its final stop in Wolfville, N.S., as the Acadia Axemen welcome the Mount Allison Mounties to Raymond Field for Homecoming.

The CIS Football Game of the Week, presented by Ontario University Athletics and Atlantic University Sport, features four exciting matchups from Sept. 17-Oct. 15, on the road to the 52nd ArcelorMittal Dofasco Vanier Cup, to be played Nov. 26 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.

A rematch of Mount Allison’s 20-12 victory in Week 6, the game marks the third straight season the Mounties have visited Acadia for Homecoming, with wins in each of the last two years. Since 2000, the Axemen lead the all-time series 26-9 (not including playoffs).

The national television schedule resumes Nov. 19 with the Uteck and Mitchell Bowl national semifinals on Sportsnet.
