CIS East-West bowl day 4: Last day of preparation & coaches clinic

The CIS East-West bowl week continues today with both teams participating in morning practices (9:30am) and afternoon practices (2:00 for the East & 3:00 for the West). The ‘Coaches Clinic’ which begins today (registration between 12 and 2pm) will have on-field drill demonstrations by the West coaches at 2:00pm and the East coaches at 3:00pm – using East-West bowl players – followed by classroom seminars until later in the evening.

HILITES FROM DAY 3:

– 6:00am on field workouts for Michael Faulds (2011 Team Canada Senior national QB), John Surla (CFL 2011 draft hopeful), and Matt Carapella (2008 CIS all-canadian)
– the 6 Japanese players continue to hone their skills during the East-West practices – all 6 (2 QBs & 4 receivers) are working with the West team exclusively
– warm, sunny weather
– CIS coaches ‘fabricating’ their final scores at the golf course
– both special teams coaches adjusting their punt return schemes when finding out they are not allowed to rush the punter – good thing because West punter Lirim Hajrullahu (UWO) has a cast on his left arm

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
