#CFCOPC16 RECAP (Minor): Bradford propels Team East past Team Halton-Peel [stats]

On Sunday morning at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, William Bradford’s fourth quarter touchdown was the difference as Team East downed Team Halton-Peel 12-6 at the 2016 Ontario Prospect Challenge.

Zvaivious Vaillancourt sprinted into the end zone for a four yard major to put Team East up 6-0 in the first quarter.

After a scoreless second and third quarter, Team Halton-Peel tied things up 6-6 when Ethan Bennink scored a 72 yard rushing touchdown.

Bradford would seal the victory as he scored an 11 yard major off a pass from pivot JR Shibley in the fourth quarter.

Team East had 157 rushing yards on 35 carries whereas Team Halton-Peel had 110 yards on 22 carries.  As for first downs, Team East had 12 as opposed to Team Halton-Peel’s 7.

Team East’s Bradford was named Big Kahuna Sports Company’s Game MVP, Team Halton-Peel’s Bennink was Spalding Offensive Player of the Game and Team East lineman Malcolm Macdonald was selected as Russell Athletics Defensive Player of the Game.
