Fox 40 profile (#CFCFPC): Spear Schryer looking to learn and get stronger

Braydon Schryer has only been playing football for two years.

He spent one semester at the house league level playing with the St. Catharines Seahawks in the Niagara Regional Minor Football Association (NRMFA).

Braydon also played for two seasons in the Ontario Football League (OFL) with the Niagara Generals.

More recently, he spent a season with the Niagara Spears with the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

“My goal for [the] Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) is to become stronger as a player, learn from new coaches and other players,” said Braydon.

During the offseason, the Spear plays hockey and attends training camps for football, as well as doing conditioning programs in his area.

On the field his role model is Chris van Zeyl of the Toronto Argonauts.

“Chris is an all-around good player, he’s aggressive on the field and he also seems to be a leader to his team [by] trying to encourage them,” commented Braydon.

The Spear loves to play football because he loves to play with a team and learn from his coaches.

“Also because I can tackle and be aggressive to get through the opposing team’s line,” added Braydon.
