Joshua Meulenbroek has been playing football for seven years, starting with competitive play in the fall of his third year in tyke. “I have worked hard on o-line to be a great lineman,” said Joshua.
Currently, the centre is playing with the peewee Rideau Redblacks in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).
“My goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to work with some great coaches who have years of experience and increase my skills in football,” commented the Redblack.
His current goal on the field is to try out of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) to play with the Myers Riders, and then later on with the Eagles for fall ball.
During the offseason, Joshua trains by playing other sports such as hockey, golf, spring football, training at home and at the Carleton Ravens football camp.
Moreover, his football role model is O.C. Brown, the starting tackle for South Mississippi. “He is one of the best o-lineman in the league and he has a very inspirational story,” explained Joshua. “He is someone who I looked up to in football and life, due to his dedication and effort.”
“I love football because I like the teamwork and everyone has a part to play,” continued the centre, “and I like to hit!”
