CFCFPC Ottawa (Minors): Top performers and honourable mentions

The Team East versus Team Central minors in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge match was a hard-fought battle with strong performances on both sides. While it was difficult to single out a few top players, there were some athletes that made an impression on their coaches.

Top Performers

Head coach Frank Farinaccio of Team East took a moment to contemplate his teamā€™s top performers. ā€œToday, Cordel was,ā€ he said. Receiver Cordel Epale (#18) had a 20-yard catch in the first quarter and an 80-yard run for a touchdown in the third.

ā€œOn offense was quarterback Noah Cardinal (#19). He played really really well. I think Justin Hurtubise (#63) did a good job on the offensive line. Running back Wilson Brown (#5) ran hard,ā€ he added. ā€œOn defense, to be honest with you, I didnā€™t see a lot of what happened. I was busy with the offense.ā€

Eric Parent, the head coach of Team Central, praised his offensive and defensive lines. ā€œI think a lot of the linemen who donā€™t get a lot of the credit, the o-linemen, they all did really really well for us. I couldnā€™t pick just one. I think all five of them played well,ā€ he said. ā€œOn defense, I think they all played well. I mean, six points, it is hard to pick one. We only gave up six. It was a good effort from everybody.ā€

Honourable Mentions

For Team East, defensive back Connor Ridenour (#10) made a spectacular tackle on his teamā€™s ten-yard line to stop a Team Central touchdown. Linebacker Vincent Griffin (#76) had a sack with linebacker Aidan Peterson (#14) assisting.

Team Central saw four touchdowns, two of which were courtesy of running back Ashton Watson (#1). His first was a 40-yarder in the second quarter and his second was a 55-yarder in the fourth. Anthony Dillon (#34) had a touchdown in the first off of a 60-yard rush. Quarterback Adrian Ashik Mohammed (#5) also scored a touchdown in the second and defensive back Randy Noel (#6) had an interception.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
