CFCFPC Game RECAP (Sophomore): Late game heroics see Team East best Team West

CFCFPC 2017 West Coast, Sophomore Game 2

In a game that can best be defined as a defensive battle that featured big plays resulting in scoring opportunities, Team East bested the West, 19-14, in game number two, CFCPFC 2017 West Coast.

The first quarter ended scoreless and there wasn’t a lot of big plays, however, with 15 seconds left in the half, offensive MVP, Lucas Spencer, put the first points on the board with a 35 yd touchdown reception making the score 6-0 going to halftime.

In the third quarter, quarterback, Tate Williams, orchestrated Team West’s lone scoring drive as he crossed the goalline himself, allowing Team West to go ahead 7-6.

The remainder of the game saw both defenses clamp down as Jadon Smith, the Game MVP was playing both ways, and made several solid plays from the free safety position. However, the difference maker for the East was defensive MVP, Addison Sadler, who was a one man wrecking crew at defensive end.

With eight minutes remaining the score was 14-12 for the west, however the east would not go down without a fight as they drove the length of the field scoring the go-ahead touchdown by Isaiah Peters in the last 40 seconds of the game.

Team East would take this one 19-14.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
