CFC50 Weekend Watch (7): Battle royale in Alberta as the undefeated go toe to toe

Around the country, there are some great matchups happening between CFC50 high school teams. Here is a look at what you can expect this Thanksgiving weekend.

All eyes shift to Alberta this upcoming week as Harry Ainlay (4-0, 2-0) faces off against what is being touted as their toughest opponent to date, No. 22 Salisbury Sabres (4-0, 0-1). Both teams are 4-0 in regular season play in the metro Edmonton area. Ainlay has 276 points for and only 8 points against, while Sal is right behind them with 235 points for and 14 points against. Both teams are loaded with CFC100s and other great talent. CFC will be on sight for this matchup on Friday night. *Game preview to follow.

Edmonton isn’t the only city expecting some great football action, Calgary is also hosting the matchup of the season at McMahon Stadium between CFC50s St. Francis (2-0, 2-0) and Notre Dame (4-0, 0-1). Each year, this game is heavily attended by family and fans alike. It’s highly charged and a great game to get to if you can on Thursday night.

Across the Rocks, CFC50s Vancouver College (5-0, 1-0) and New Westminster (3-1, 1-1) will be going head to head. The Fighting Irish are hot and New West is still licking their wounds from last week’s upset. Can the Hyacks rally and continue their winning ways? or will the Irish’s momentum be too much to overcome? This game is also set for Friday night at Mercer Stadium.
