No. 1. W. F. Herman Green Griffins (7-0) v.s No. 18. Holy Names Knights (6-1)
WECSSA Finals
Thursday, November 17th at 7:00pm
We kick off a massive week across the province with a highly anticipated rematch in Windsor between the Herman Green Griffins and the Holy Names Knights. The evidence for both programs is there for all to see, and one could make an argument that either team could walk away victorious at the end of the night. Earlier in the season it was the Green Griffins who triumphed in a 30-15 victory, but that game did leave the impression that Holy Names can hang with the top team in the country, and in a one game scenario anything can happen. The field will be shining bright with star players lining up on both sides of the field, including #CFC100 Quintin Seguin and Branden McCraney for Herman, while Holy Names stacks up with their own #CFC100 member Inho Choi and running back Zach Herzog. With that said, it surely will take a total team effort for one of these two juggernauts to prevail as champions.

No. 3. A. N. Meyer Marauders (6-0)

No. 6. Cardinal Newman Cardinals (7-0) v.s No. 17. St. Thomas More Knights (7-1)
HWCAA Finals
Thursday, November 17th at 4:00pm
Will this matchup ever get boring? Not a chance. It will be a showcase between Hamilton’s finest once again in the HWCAA finals as the Cardinal Newman Cardinals get set to defend their title versus the St. Thomas More Knights at Tim Hortons Field. If this game lives up to the events that transpired a year ago, than fans will be in for a treat. While I am sure the Knights are sick of reading about it, in last year’s championship game Newman erased a 30 point deficit at halftime, clawing their way back to victory in one of the craziest plot twists the city has ever seen. That was then and this is now, however, and I doubt the Knights need any more motivation to close out the deal this time around. The determining factor in this one will likely be who can shut down the opposing team’s rushing attack, with Nicholas Petermann carrying the load for Newman, and #CFC100 Michael Chris-Ike leading the way for a running back by committee approach for the Knights that also features Jacob Baker. If one or both defences succeed in limiting the ground game, don’t overlook the talents of either quarterback with Jordan Rimac leading the Cardinals with both his arm and legs, while Zach Odoardi has been a steady influence under centre for St. Thomas More all season long.

No. 9. Huron Heights Warriors (7-0) v.s No. 38. St. Maximilian Kolbe Mustangs (6-1)
YRAA Finals
Saturday, November 19th at 6:00pm
I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been looking forward to this rematch, as the Huron Heights Warriors prepare to collide with the pesky St. Max Mustangs in the YRAA finals. These two squads used every last second to decide the outcome of their previous meeting this season, with the Warriors pulling out 14-11 win by the skin of their teeth on a five minute game winning drive. It is a large unknown whether the Mustangs defence will once again be able to stymie a Warriors offence who is averaging an eye popping 54.1 points per game – and no that isn’t a typo. It’s a real possibility, however, with those 14 points being the most St. Max has allowed all season. Do your best to keep up in this one, with Huron Heights boasting a roster stocked with #CFC100 Danny McWhirter, #CFC100 Mathew Goodall, Aiden Mielczarek and quarterback Colin Grant, while St. Max counters with quarterback Ben Langlois, Nolan Lovegrove, Jack Camplin and Ron Boshoer.

No. 11. Jacob Hespeler Hawks (8-0) v.s No. 42. St. David Celtics (7-2)
CWOSSA Semifinals
Thursday, November 17th at 5:00pm
It’s down to the nitty gritty in the CWOSSA semifinals as the Hespeler Hawks face off against the St. David Celtics with a spot in the finals at stake. When two teams collide from separate divisions it is always tough to decipher who holds the edge, and this one is no different with both programs earning their way through difficult regions to get to this point. On one hand you have the Celtics who scrapped their way through the District 8 and defeated #CFC50 North Park last week in a decisive 37-21 rout, while on the other side you have Hespeler who dominated a talented Waterloo region with ease defeating all who were place in front of them. A key difference when you take a glance at the standings is that the Hawks defence has been stellar allowing just 20 points in eight contests, while the Celtics have shown a few cracks allowing 17.7 points per game. Both teams will need to score in bunches if they want to keep pace, with the dynamic duo of quarterback Justin Henderson and his trusty receiver Daire Newbrough posing a serious threat to the Hawks defence, while quarterback Jackson White will lead a star studded Hespeler offence that also features Xavier Pineda and Devante Hudson.

No. 12. Nelson Lords (7-0) v.s No. 34. Holy Trinity (6-1)
HSSAA Finals
Thursday, November 17th at 11:45am
A second chance is all anyone can ask for in life, and Holy Trinity will get their opportunity as they prepare to take on Nelson in the HSSAA finals. The history is thick between these two, and it is never a safe bet to lean one way or the other. While the Lords have dominated in recent meetings including a 38-7 win over the Titans earlier in the year, they won’t be able to simply show up and take the championship home without a fight. Holy Trinity will be looking to their standout quarterback Kurtis Rourke alongside a group of athletic receivers including Tevin Doyley, Lex Jeffrey and Blaze Cervocec to keep them in contention, while Nelson will attack from every angle with quarterback Jared Currie feeding the ball to playmakers Will Corby, Jake Mitchell and co. If the Titans want to hang around in this one, they will need to solve a Nelson defence who has granted their opponents just 3.7 points per game.

No. 13. Catholic Central Crusaders (7-0) v.s St. Joseph’s (5-2)
LDA Finals
Thursday, November 17th at 2:00pm
Riding a wave of confidence heading into the LDA finals, Catholic Central look to punch their ticket to the WOSSAA playdowns with a win over St. Joseph’s. It wasn’t much of a contest the last time these two met with the Crusaders walking away with a 42-7 victory, which was a familiar feeling for St. Joseph’s who also fell at the hands of Catholic Central in last year’s semifinals 34-5. If #CFC100 Daniel Valente and quarterback Jake Beukeboom continue their stretch of brilliant play, it will take a miraculous effort by St. Joseph’s to walk away champions.

No. 14. South Lions (7-0) v.s 41. Sir Wilfrid Laurier Rams (7-0)
TVDSB Finals
Thursday, November 17th at 4:00pm
It doesn’t get much better than this. With a spot in the WOSSAA playdowns on the line, the South Lions will take on Sir Wilfrid Laurier for a chance to call themselves TVDSB champions. London has proven to be one of the toughest cities to emerge from for any team, and both squads will have to come prepared with a solid game plan if they want to move onto bigger and better things. Led by quarterback Ethan Martin and a stout defence, South has manhandled all opponent who have stepped in their way with an average margin of victory of 34.4 points per game – and that isn’t including all the touchdowns they scored after the mercy limit was enforced. Sir Wilfrid Laurier ain’t no pushover, however, and will be looking to their defence that has allowed just 7.2 points per game to shut down Martin and running back Nick Morello who has been a bowling ball running through the line all season long. The Lions defence will need to key on Austin Allen-Carrothers and Currie Broder, who both had outstanding games in the Rams’ 36-12 semifinals win over Central.

No. 19. Denis Morris Reds (8-0) v.s St. Paul (7-1)
NCAA Finals
Wednesday, November 16th at 12:30pm
Denis Morris now have a date with #CFC50 A. N. Meyer next week after blanking St. Paul 30-0 in the NCAA Finals.

No. 21. Etobicoke Rams (6-0) v.s Downsview (4-3)
TDSB Semifinals
Thursday, November 17th at 2:00pm
After enjoying a few weeks off to rest, Etobicoke get back into the swing of things with a matchup versus Downsview in the TDSB semifinals. The Toronto public league has been one of the most competitive all season long, making this playoff bracket one of the most intriguing in the province with no real favourites, and no true underdogs. Of course Etobicoke has remained spotless winning every game on their schedule, but they will not be able to overlook a Downsview team who they defeated by just 12 points earlier in the year. The storyline for the Rams has been hard nosed defence, and big time plays on offence by standout running backs Justice Allin and Samuel Conteh along with receiver #CFC100 Keegan Dicks, which will once again be the formula they need to follow if they want to move onto the championship game.

No. 24. St. Marcellinus Spirit (7-1) v.s St. Marguerite d’Youville (5-3)
ROPSSAA Finals
Thursday, November 17th at 11:00am
It’s likely not the opponent they expected to be playing, but St. Marcellinus will need to be on their toes taking on a dangerous team from St. Marguerite d’Youville in the ROPSSAA finals. While it seemed like the division was #CFC50 St. Roch’s to lose, d’Youville threw a monkey wrench into that equation last week with a 10-9 victory over the defending champions, setting up juicy matchup in the finals that could teeter either way depending on the day. The Spirit prevailed in the first contest of the season in a 24-14 decision, but as d’Youville proved last week, don’t bank on the regular season results to indicate who the champion will be.

No. 26. Superior Heights Steelhawks (10-0)
OFSAA Northern Bowl Finalists

No. 27. St. Joan of Arc Knights (7-0) v.s Bear Creek (7-0)

No. 32. St. Roch Ravens (7-1)
Season complete

No. 33. St. Matthew (6-1)
OFSAA Metro Bowl Finalists

No. 47. North Park Trojans (7-1)
Season complete

No. 48. St. Charles Cardinals (8-1)
Season complete

No. 49. Sir Allan MacNab Lions (7-1) v.s Saltfleet Storm (5-3)
HWDSB Finals
Wednesday, November 16th at 1:00pm
Sir Allan MacNab earned another championship for their trophy case as they cruised to a 40-17 victory over Saltfleet in their first appearance on the list this year.
