With stunning and dominant regular season play thus far, the falcons are the favorite heading into this much-anticipated matchup. Led by the phenomenal #CFC100 running back Chuba Hubbard, the Falcons have averaged an astonishing 38 points en route to an 8-0 record. What makes this matchup even more intriguing is the fact that Bev Facey is playing for the football program’s 200th win.

“The team has been focused all week,” stated running back Adam Powell. “This game is very important to us…we are expecting a street fight because [Titans] want to be champions as well.”

Both teams are well coached and loaded with talent. A game of this magnitude will come down to which team is able to maintain composure throughout the game and eliminate mental errors.

“We will be mostly focused on the mental aspect of the game. We don’t want to take unnecessary penalties, that just helps the Titans,” Powell expanded.

At this point, the entire province of Alberta is quite familiar with star running back Chuba Hubbard. However, much can be said for the Falcons stellar supporting cast that has done a great job in preserving the stellar 8-0 record. Running back Adam Powell is an intriguing prospect to watch in this game. In limited action, Powell has averaged just over nine yards per carry behind Hubbard as a change of pace back.

“Hubbard can’t do it by himself, said Powell. There’s been a lot of talent that has helped the offense during the season. The Titans can’t focus just on one player, there is a lot more talent on this team than anyone realizes.”

Harry Ainlay

The Harry Ainlay Titans boast a plethora of talent on both the offense and the defense. The Titans have depth everywhere. The conclusion? The Falcons will not be able to let up for one minute in this matchup.

Cody Olsen is a lethal dual-threat Quarterback who ranks second in the Carr division in both passing and rushing, behind Falcons’ Hubbard. Furthermore, players such as #CFC100 Tadi Siwira, Johnathan Rosery and Shamarr Booth all provide a unique element to the offense that cannot be overlooked.

The defense is anchored by Riley Szafranski, Justin Rutherford, and Lwal Uguak. Uguak’s impressive play this season as an eleventh grader further highlight the Titans depth. Titans’ assistant head coach Tyler Greenslade has taken notice.

““He is a tremendous leader and fans will likely hear more about him in the next 12 months, if they haven’t already,” Greenslade said via the Edmonton Sun.

Coming off a bye week, the Titans have been practicing at Foote field to further familiarize themselves with the environment, and better prepare for this matchup. Running back Shemar Booth is aware of the depth the Titans have, yet, he also understands the importance of execution on gameday.

“Execution from the 1st quarter to the last. Blocking for each other on every play. We must limit the snaps of Facey’s offense by driving down the field and finishing drives.”

“With all the talent on our team, it’s going to come down to playing for each other no matter what our job may be on each play.”

Game time is Friday at 7:30, Foote Field.
