….and now let’s get to it with this week’sΒ #CFC50Β Playoff games PREVIEW

No. 1. W. F. Herman Green Griffins (6-0)
Quarterfinals bye.

No. 6. Cardinal Newman Cardinals (6-0)
Quarterfinals bye.

No. 12. Jacob Hespeler Hawks (5-0) v. Waterloo-Oxford (3-3)
Semifinals
Thursday, November 3rd
Capping off a perfect regular season with a 46-10 win over Preston last week, Hespeler are soaring high going into their semifinals matchup with Waterloo-Oxford. The Hawks defence posted four clean sheets this season providing a sturdy backbone for a lethal offensive attack led by Devante Hudson and Darrian Morgan, who should both carry the load on offence once again. Waterloo-Oxford will need to find a way to put together a complete game on both sides of the ball, which will be much easier said than done in this one.

No. 16. Nelson Lords (6-0)
Quarterfinals bye.

No. 20. St. Thomas More Knights (5-2) v. St. Jean Brebeuf (0-6)
Quarterfinals
Wednesday, November 2nd at 5:00pm
St. Thomas More won’t have much time to assess their loss versus Newman as they get ready to take on their mountain rivals from St. Jean Brebeuf in quarterfinal action. After racking up 184 yards last week in the losing effort, watch for #CFC100 Michael Chris-Ike to get the ball early and often as the Knights try and get back to their winning ways. Another key player to watch will be quarterback Zach Odoardi who has been a steady presence in St. Thomas More’s offence all season.

No. 21. Holy Names Knights (5-1)
Quarterfinals bye.

No. 25. Corpus Christi Longhorns (5-0)
Quarterfinals bye.

No. 28. Superior Heights Steelhawks (8-0) v. West Ferris (6-0)
NOSSA Semi Final
Saturday, November 5th
After taking home the city championship last week, hold the celebrations for late November is what Superior Heights is thinking as they now prepare to fight for a bid at the OFSAA Bowl Festival. Led all season by quarterback Noah Griggs, Kristian Shuttleworth and touchdown machine Cooper Laframboise, the Steelhawks will need to dig in their heels taking on a West Ferris team who won the Nipissing city finals 61-0.

No. 35. Frontenac Falcons (6-0) v. Napanee (4-2)
Semifinals
Tuesday, November 2nd at 5:00pm
With a flawless regular season checked off their list, Frontenac now turn their attention to the next task at hand which is a semifinals showdown versus Napanee. These two met earlier in the season where the Falcons prevailed 38-0, but this is not the same Golden Hawks who took the field that day. Frontenac will need to be on their toes with Napanee riding a four game winning streak coming into this contest, presenting the perfect trap game scenario for an upset.

No. 36. St. James Lions (5-0) v. Our Lady of Lourdes (2-4)
Semifinals
Friday, November 4th at 4:00pm
With a week off to get all their ducks in a row, St. James should be feeling confident going into their semifinals matchup with Our Lady of Lourdes. These two should be very familiar with one another after facing off in the regular season finale, where the Lions walked away with a 16-0 victory. Watch out once again for Tanner Nelmes who was the star that day scoring the only two touchdowns, as well as Matt Prevett and Vincent Garbuio.

No. 41. St. Benedict Saints (5-1)
Semifinals bye.

44. St. Charles Cardinals (7-0) v.s Lo-Ellen (5-1)
Friday, November 4th at 7:30pm
Sporting the new title of #CFC50, St. Charles head into the Sudbury city finals feeling confident as they formulate a gameplan to take out a strong squad from Lo-Ellen. Hopefully with the stakes raised it brings out the best of both teams after their first meeting ended up with St. Charles dominating to the tune of 43-7. The winner will book their spot in the NOSSA finals with a chance to dance in Hamilton at the end of November.

No. 46. North Park Trojans (6-0)
Bye week.
