No. 2 W. F. Herman Green Griffins (6-0) v. 15. Holy Names Knights (5-1)
Billed as a heavyweight battle between two of the best, this one didn’t disappoint as Herman clawed their way to a 30-15 win over Holy Names. Both teams traded blows in the first half with the Griffins finding themselves up 15-8 heading into the break. Then late in the third quarter the Crusaders found a way to answer the bell knotting the game up at 15-15, setting up a nail biter going into the final frame. Herman would steal the lead back early in the fourth going up 24-15, then with three minutes remaining and the game on the line, an interception would seal Holy Names’ fate as they dropped their first game of the season. The Green Griffins now sit all alone atop the standings with just one game left on the schedule before the playoffs begin.

No. 4 A. N. Myer Marauders (5-0) v. Sir Winston Churchill (3-1)
Meyer didn’t leave much to the imagination in this battle for first place, walking away with a decisive 37-0 victory over Churchill. Although they had only allowed seven points coming into this game, Churchill had no answers on defence in the first half as the Marauders built a 30-0 lead. That margin was large enough for Meyer to bring in their second stringers after the intermission – which led to a much more competitive ball game – but the final score was never in doubt. Among the scorers for Meyer were Jake Andrews on a five yard run, Rushon Dagelman on a 35 yard scamper, Josh Lisi from one yard out, and Tyler Hildebrand who scored on runs of 25 and 50 yards. It was the defensive line, however, who earned themselves some game balls with defensive end Austin Potter racking up three first half sacks, while defensive tackle Troy Colosimo and defensive end Jackson Maves showed off their big-man hands each grabbing an interception.

No. 8 Cardinal Newman Cardinals (6-0) v. Bishop Ryan (3-3)
In front of a packed house with home field advantage on their side, Newman would not be denied their sixth straight Father Cote Cup as they dismantled Bishop Ryan 42-0. The floodgates were opened early with a 45 yard hookup between quarterback Jordan Rimac and grade eleven standout Ethan Bastarache on the Cardinals’ first drive. Nicholas Petermann would take full advantage of the opening collecting three touchdowns by the time the final whistle blew – two via the ground attack and another on a 18 yard pass – while Tyler Major was the recipient of Rimac’s third touchdown toss of the day. To cap off the scoring, Bastarache flashed his skills once again taking a pitch five yards to the end zone for his second major. Despite Winter beginning to make it’s presence felt across Ontario, the temperature is about to get turned way up next week when Newman takes on #CFC50 St. Thomas More in a battle for first place in the HWDCSB standings.

No. 12 St. Roch Ravens (6-0) v. Meadowvale (0-5)
It’s tough hanging with the best in the country, and unfortunately for Meadowvale they couldn’t find a way as they fell 60-6 in a dominant display by St. Roch. Juwan Jeffrey put together a spectacular performance finishing with 130 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries, while quarterback Deandre Rose was flawless once again completing every pass he threw for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Other Ravens getting in on the action were Gabriel Appiah-Kubi who made a resilient second effort to find the endzone on a short passing play, Joel O’Connor who finished with 66 yards on 6 carries with two touchdowns, and middle linebacker Kadeem McFarlane who showed off his athleticism pulling down an interception.

No. 13 Huron Heights Warriors (5-0) v.s. Bill Crothers (3-2)
Huron Heights continues to prove that their slim 14-11 win over #CFC50 St. Max was just a minor blip on the radar as they obliterated Bill Crothers 62-0. It was quite the return for #CFC100 Danny McWhirter, who made his presence felt in this one snagging a pick-six on defence and returning a punt all the way to the house in his first game back from injury. He was not the only Warrior to have a big day, however, with Aiden Mielczarek finding the end zone three times, and quarterback Colin Grant adding a pair of touchdowns of his own. Rounding out the scoring for Huron Heights was Mike Strumos and Farbod Adivi. With the win the Warriors have now clinched first place in the YRAA.

No. 14 St. Thomas More Knights (5-1) v. St. Jean Brebeuf (0-5)
The scoreboard nearly short circuited trying to keep up with St. Thomas More as they lit up Brebeuf 64-0. The Knights should be feeling good with a bit of momentum on their side as they get ready to take on their nemesis from #CFC50 Cardinal Newman with first place up for grabs.

No. 16 Jacob Hespeler Hawks (4-0) v. Bluevale (1-3)
Bluevale put up a good fight, but in the end Hespeler was too much to handle as the Hawks walked away with their fourth straight shutout of the season. Continuing their assault on the scoresheets this year, Devante Hudson found the end zone twice, Darrian Morgan contributed 10 points to his team’s total, while Elijah Cruickshank chipped in with a touchdown to help power Hespeler to the 30-0 victory.

No. 19 Nelson Lords (6-0) v. 29. Holy Trinity Titans (4-1)
Nelson clinched top spot in the Volpe Division with a very impressive 38-7 win over their bitter rivals from Holy Trinity. This one wasn’t close from the get go with quarterback Jarred Currie finding Evan Catania for a long touchdown strike on the first play from scrimmage. Will Corby kept the ball rolling adding a pair of touchdowns to the scoreboard, while A. J. Shofield connected on a field goal to send Nelson into halftime up 24-7. The lead proved to be to much for the Titans to overcome as Currie and Zach Ihasz ran the ball in two more times in the second half to help secure the victory. Nelson now enjoys a much needed break with a bye in the final week of regular season play, then another bye as they patiently await to find out who will emerge from the Richardson Division quarter-finals.

No. 21 Catholic Central Crusaders (4-1) v. St. Andre Bessette (2-2)
Jake Beukeboom led the way tossing two touchdown passes – including a 84 yard bomb to #CFC100 Daniel Valente – as Catholic Central enjoyed a successful homecoming defeating St. Andre Bessette 25-6. The Crusaders will need to keep a steady hand on the wheel with just two games remaining, including a potential showdown for first place versus Regina Mundi in their regular season finale.

No. 22 South Lions (4-1) v. H. B. Beal (1-3)
It was the type of game that would make any coach smile as the South Lions dominated from start to finish in a 35-0 mercy over the Beal Raiders. The main stat that pops off the screen from this game isn’t the 224 combined yards and two touchdowns for Nick Morello, or the 221 all purpose yards and three touchdowns for quarterback Ethan Martin, but rather it’s the 12 sacks South racked up on defence. Making roll call for sacks on the day was Dawson Elliot, Richie Selmes, Richard Morris, Julian DeBono, Derek Vardy, Joel Stenning, Jackson Wood and Tyrel Pierce. More importantly, South keeps pace with first place Central who they prepare to play this week in their biggest test of the season thus far.

No. 23 Denis Morris Reds (5-0) v. Holy Cross (0-5)
Denis Morris continued their magnificent run through the NCAA division with a 46-0 win over Holy Cross. The Reds displayed similarities to a Swiss Army knife with eight different players getting in on the scoring festivities, including a pair of pick-sixes from Mike Domanico and Mason Kaminga. On offence both Travis Arp and Cam Calder threw touchdown passes, with Arp finding Owen Wallace and James Holt for majors, while Calder connected on a 24 yard pass to Dylan Warnock. For the cherry on top of an all-around team performance, birthday boy Jake Andrews was a beast making tackles all over the field and finished the day off with a gift in the form of a rushing touchdown.

No. 26 Corpus Christi Longhorns (6-0) v. Loyola (3-2)
In what has become common place for the Longhorns, they once again banded together on defence to form an impenetrable wall en route to a 18-0 win over Loyola. Corpus Christi has clinched first place in the Richardson Division and will enjoy a first round bye come playoff time.

No. 27 Superior Heights Steelhawks (7-0) v. White Pines (0-7)
White Pines gave it all they had, but in the end Superior Heights punched their ticket to the city finals with a 36-12 victory. The Steelhawks started off slowly, but after some adjustments were made they gained traction with Cooper Lafromboise, Elijah Yandeau and Nick Roussain all rushing for majors, while two second half touchdown receptions by Connor Breachin salted the game away. Assisting the team on defence was Justin Cond and Andrew Batman who both registered interceptions, while Nick Wildman lived up to his name making 3.5 tackles and grabbing an INT of his own. Superior Heights now prepare for their third and final showdown this week with the Korah Colts in the city finals.

No. 28 Etobicoke Rams (5-0)
Bye Week.

No. 32 Westdale Warriors (4-1) v. Waterdown (2-3)
Jumping out to a 12-0 lead under terrible conditions for football, Westdale let this one slip through their fingers as Waterdown stormed back in the second half for the 13-12 upset victory.

No. 35 St. Joan of Arc Knights (4-0) v. St. Peter’s (2-2)
After the game was originally postponed due to weather, Joan of Arc remained focused and took care of business in a 21-0 shutout over St. Peter’s. The Knights have now recorded a clean sheet in four straight games as opponents continue to search for a way to solve their defence.

No. 41 St. Marcellinus Spirit (4-1) v. St. Marguerite d’Youville (3-2)
St. Marcellinus continued their push for second seed in the ROPSSAA playoffs defeating St. Marguerite d’Youville 24-14. With just two games remaining, the Spirit remain tied in second place with former #CFC50 Lorne Park, but do hold the season series giving them the upper hand heading into November.

No. 42 Frontenac Falcons (5-0) v. La Salle (3-2) / Sydenham (1-4)
Playing two games in the span of four days to close out their regular season, Frontenac escaped the gauntlet unscathed with a tough 14-10 win over La Salle, followed up with a 36-7 win versus Sydenham. The Falcons now enjoy a long break as they take their bye week and await the results from the rest of the league’s final games.

No. 43 St. James Lions (6-0) v. Our Lady of Lourdes (1-3)
If you enjoy offensive football, this game was not for you as St. James defeated Our Lady of Lourdes 16-0 to cap off a perfect regular season. With exceptional defensive performances from both teams, Tanner Nelmes was the only player to break the barrier with two rushing touchdowns to help propel the Lions to victory. St. James will enjoy a hard-earned week off as they wait to see who their opponent will be in the D10 semi-finals.

No. 46 St. Peter Knights (4-1) v. St. Mark (0-4-1)
After the season started out on a sour note, St. Peter has showed off some mental fortitude stringing together their fourth straight win in a 21-0 shutout over St. Mark. Still in a tie for first place with St. Matthew nipping at their heels, all the Knights need to do is win their final game of the season versus St. Francis Xavier to secure the top seed.

No. 47 St. Benedict Saints (4-1) v. Resurrection (1-3)
On a wet and windy day in Waterloo, St. Benedict maintained their top spot in the D8 with a huge 25-7 win over Resurrection. Saints’ quarterback Alex Douglas found a way to direct traffic through the rain finding Andrew Horscroft for a 14 yard touchdown pass, followed up with a three yard plunge across the goal line on a quarterback keeper. On the other side of the ball, defensive back Josh Cumber created havoc for the Phoenix’ offence picking off their quarterback not once, but twice. There won’t be any time to rest on their laurels as the Saints need a win in their final regular season game to clinch first place ahead of the former #CFC50 St. David Celtics.

No. 50 St. Maximilian Kolbe Mustangs (3-1) v. Villanova College (0-3-1)
Win due to forfeit.
