CFC27 Update (4): Huskies strong down the stretch

The final push for this year’s U Sports recruiting season is in full swing. All U Sports teams are fully up to date with today’s update of the CFC27 U Sports Recruiting Rankings.

After last week’s update, there was very little change at the top. Calgary, McMaster and British Columbia all stay in first, second, and third spot for overall rankings. However, Montreal and Western switch positions this week in the total rankings for fourth and fifth spot.

The more interesting story is in the average per player rankings where Montreal maintains their top spot with their quality class as they addedΒ another CFC100 player. St. Mary’s is able to crack the top 5 this week as they also added another CFC100 player and their class continues improves.

Calgary sits pretty in second with their 40 top notch recruits, averaging 24.25 per player and Laval is right behind them with 21.44 per player.Β Western pulls up with 20.81 average per player and remains in the fifth spot.

For the rest of the list, Mount Allison lands a couple of key recruits to improve their total and average per player rankings, and Queen’s is surprisingly moving in a positive direction as well after an extremely slow start.

As the East-West is quickly approaching, I am sure that the U Sports coaches are looking forward to the second blackout period so that they can put their phones down.

*CFC employs a point system based on the recruits declared in the recruiting class on CFC:

  • Schools declare recruits at different times of year (i.e. Quebec schools recruit most in January, higher academic school entries are later, etc) so make sure you equate the amount of recruits with the point system
  • Players are rated based on (a) CFC100 ranking (b) 4-star ranking (c) 3-star ranking (d) all other players get a NR
  • Transfers are NOT allocated points as of 2016-2017 as they would have acquired points in their original class year. They will be listed on the ‘Transfer List’.
  • CFC27 is updated once per week
