#CFC100 teammates to be reunited at Carleton (VIDEO)

Brampton defensive back becomes second #CFC100 to join OUA team’s 2016 class.

Carleton Ravens have announced the addition of #CFC100 Tyrell Richards to their football program.

The 6’3, 180 pound defensive back from Brampton, Ontario will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

In 2015, Richards helped St. Roch Ravens of the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) make history by winning their first ever OFSAA Bowl game.  Additionally, the defensive standout has suited up for the Brampton Bulldogs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Representing his home province, Richards participated in the 2015 Football Canada Cup in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.

Among the honours the defensive back has received include 2015 Football Canada Cup All-Star nod, 2015 Football Canada Cup Defensive Player of the Game honours and an OVFL All-Star selection.

With his commitment, Richards will be reunited with former Ravens teammate, #CFC100 defensive end Ricardo Barrett.

Tyrell Richards commitment

So far, Carleton has two #CFC100 recruits as part of their 2016 recruiting class.

“Tyrell comes with a huge resume from being ranked in the #CFC100 to Football Canada Cup All-star to playing for Team Canada in the upcoming International Bowl games in Texas,” commented Ravens Head Coach Steve Sumarah of Richards’ commitment.  “Coach Sean Hall first got to meet Tyrell a couple of years ago and developed a strong bond.”

“With Tyrell’s range and ball hawking ability he is a prototypical free safety.  Being strong up the middle is huge for any defense and Tyrell gets us a huge presence on the backend.  We are excited to work with him throughout his career both on and off the field.”
