#CFC100 recruit picks Carabins (VIDEO)

CEGEP linebacker becomes fifth #CFC100 to join RSEQ team’s 2016 class.

After tremendous deliberation, #CFC100 Brian Harelimana has made his choice.

On Tuesday, the 6ā€™2, 220 pound linebacker from Laval, Quebec committed to the Montreal Carabins.Ā  Harelimana will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.

ā€œI chose University of Montreal after a hard thought decision because it was I felt most at home,ā€ explained the defensive standout.Ā  ā€œIt was a tough decision all the other universities were great to me but University of Montreal had a special something!ā€

ā€œI have a great relationship with Paul-Eddy Saint-Vilien and that had a lot to do in my decision.ā€

Harelimana has previously suited up for CEGEP Division 1 team, Vanier Cheetahs.Ā  During the 2015 season, the linebacker registered 100.5 tackles, caught four interceptions, recorded four sacks and nine tackles for a loss.

Before the Cheetahs, Harelimana played for RSEQ Juvenile Division 1 team Cure-Antoine-Labelle Wolves. Ā In his time there, he was named Team MVP and selected as a RSEQ Juvenile Division 1 All-Star.

With his commitment, the Carabins now have five #CFC100 recruits.Ā  The others include receiver Karym Kartsonis, defensive end/linebacker Samuel Rossi as well as quarterbacks Eric Parr and Alex Campeau-Perreault.
