CFC100 Keelan White snags first two offers

The West Coast is hopping with talent right now, and the local schools are looking to take advantage with a pair of offers for CFC100 Keelan White out of Handsworth Secondary.

Simon Fraser and UBC no longer compete on the field, but they still go to battle every year on the recruiting trail, so it’s no surprise to see White post a pair of offers from his local schools in the same day. The Clan have been very active with seven CFC100 offers on the board, and their early presence under newly hired Head Coach, Thomas Ford, has been a noticeable change from last year’s cycle. They’ve also targeted Jake Taylor, Cameron Mah, Jaden Severy, Evan Nolli, Zairech Kremler and Gideon Kremler, so there’s a noticeable pattern and it could work out if they can get a few of these guys to sign. White is the highest ranked prospect they’ve offered though, and they’re going to be in for a fight with him already visiting Fresno State, San Diego State and Eastern Washington during the spring.

Same goes for UBC, but they’re coming off a cycle where they signed nine CFC100s, and their recent rise in the U Sports world leads to a lot of credibility under Head Coach, Blake Nill. They’ll have to hold on for the long run if they ever want to see White in blue and gold, but it’s never a bad idea to get an offer out there early and create a lasting connection that could play a role now, or even down the line if he ends up in the NCAA but transfers back home for whatever reason.

CFC Lead Analyst, Clint Uttley, sees a bright future ahead for the talented receiver who recently took part in the CFC100 Combine,

“White has been on our radar since the end of 9th grade. He’s a very smooth athlete who seems to have a feel for the game. The biggest thing that stuck out to me was how athletic he is with the ball in his hands. He just seems effortless when he’s running with the ball or actually running his routes. As far as prospects go, he might be one of the top prospects next season when you factor in the total package – marks, school, and simply a blue chip football player.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
