The Alberta prospect spent last season playing at St. Thomas More School in Connecticut, and chose Kentucky over fellow Power 5 offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Virginia and West Virginia. He’s the first from the Class of 2020 to announce his NCAA commitment, following a similar path as CFC100 Jesse Luketa, who announced his intentions to sign with Penn State before his senior year.

In a statement posted to social media, Goods explained why he wanted to continue his career with the Wildcats,

“I’m a big believer of going with your gut, and know that its the right place if you truly feel it … I also want to give thanks to the city of Fort McMurray for helping me with all the community support as I’m honoured to represent my city.”

Goods began his high school days playing at Father Mercredi in Fort McMurray, and should lineup at defensive tackle during his time at Kentucky. He’s the first Canadian to commit with the Wildcats since we began tracking data in 2010, and they also have offers on the board for CFC100s Kenny Mestidor and Damien Alford.

Kentucky are enjoying a high point in the program’s history coming off a 10-3 season where they finished 12th in the AP National Rankings.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
