It’s been all Power 5 from the jump for Armitage. It didn’t take long for Rutgers to finally pull the trigger after having him on campus for a visit at the end of November, and the news only got better once we flipped the calendar. Syracuse sent an offer on January 28th, now he’s attracted two more from Pittsburgh and Penn State to kickoff March. It appears like Armitage skipped over the middle ground heading straight to Power 5 circles, and he’s already got more offers than any prospect from the Class of 2020 at this point last year. There’s Canadian connections all over with Syracuse home to CFC100s Patrick Davis and Tyrell Richards, Penn State home to CFC100s Daniel Joseph, Jonathan Sutherland and Jesse Luketa, then Virginia is home to CFC100 Terrell Jana.

“There were two things that jumped off this young man’s film during the evaluation; the first was his frame, and the second was how disruptive this kid’s game is. Armitage had one of the more impressive film’s for all the defensive linemen that we evaluated. Not only did he make big plays, but he punished the offense. His closing speed was truly impressive. I also like how he finished every play. Lastly, I love how he uses his hands. They were violent when he was pass rushing and powerful when he was disengaging or destroying blocks. I am very excited to see how he progresses over the next few seasons.”
