#CFC100 CLASS 2017: The “BIG 10” 1.0 (VIDEO)

Chuba Hubbard CFC100 2017

1) CHUBA HUBBARD – 6’1, 190 RB (ALBERTA):

It’s been quite the whirlwind few days for the the 6’1, 190 pound running back from Sherwood Park, Alberta.  After netting 24 NCAA Division 1 offers since February 19th, Hubbard put an abrupt end on Sunday to his recruitment process as he announced that he verbally committed to Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Missouri Tigers, University of Central Florida Knights, University of Buffalo Bulls, University of Texas at San Antoinio (UTSA) Roadrunners, Pittsburgh Panthers,California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks, Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs, Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Oklahoma Sooners, Iowa State Cyclones, Texas A&M Aggies, North Carolina Tar Heels, Colorado Buffaloes, Miami Hurricanes, Auburn Tigers, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Colorado State Rams, Tennessee Vols, Syracuse Orange, Washington State Cougars and Bowling Green Falcons were among the other teams to offer the top ranked prospects.

In a previous interview with CFC, Hubbard has indicated that it would be a while until he announced his future gridiron home.  The decision was expected in February, 2017.

“I won’t be making a decision for a while most likely,” offered the Class 2017 prospect in the interview.  “I think I’m going to wait till National Signing Day to make my official decision!”

Currently, Hubbard is with the Bev Facey Falcons of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA). During the 2015 season, Hubbard scored 30 majors and rushed for 2,534 yards on 135 carries.

Additionally, he previously suited up for Sherwood Park Rams.

During his career, Hubbard has received several honours including Team, Offensive and Special Teams MVP as well as Outstanding Running Back Award.

Luiji Vilain CFC100 2017

2) LUIJI VILAIN – 6’4, 240 DE (ONTARIO):

After the 6’4, 240 pound defensive end from Ottawa, Ontario hit the “30” plateau mark for NCAA Division 1 offers, he narrowed down his considerations to 12 teams – Alabama Crimson Tide, Boston College Eagles, Duke Blue Devils, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan State Spartans, Michigan Wolverines,Ohio State Buckeyes, Tennessee Vols, UCLA Bruins, North Carolina Tar Heels, USC Trojans and Virginia Tech Hokies.

Vilain has indicated through several media outlets he will jointly announce in the coming months with fellow Gridiron Academy trainee and Class 2017 prospect, Johnathan Sutherland.

During the summer of 2015, the defensive standout attended several events including Michigan’s Sound Mind Sound Body Camp and Ohio State’s Friday Night Lights Camp.

Recently, Vilain ended his season with Alexandria’s Episcopal Maroon.

Other teams Vilain has suited up for north of the border include Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and South Gloucester Giants of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

Jonathan Sutherland CFC100 2017

3) JONATHAN SUTHERLAND – 6’0, 190 DB (ONTARIO):

With over 24 NCAA Division 1 offers, the 6’0, 190 pound defensive back fom Ottawa, Ontario will have a hard time picking which team he will sign with come National Signing Day.

Some of the offers Sutherland has are from Michigan Wolverines, Louisville Cardinals, Syracuse Orange, Temple Owls, Vanderbilt Commodores, Virginia Cavaliers, Wisconsin Badgers, Boston College Eagles, East Carolina Pirates, North Carolina Tar Heels, Miami Hurricanes, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Appalachian State Mountaineers, Iowa State Cyclones, Maryland Terrapins, Pittsburgh Panthers and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

He is expected to announce his decision in the coming months.

Sutherland is currently playing alongside CFC#2 ViIain south of the border for Episcopal Maroon in Alexandra, Virginia.

He has previously suited up for the Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and North Gloucester Giants of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

He trains with Victor Tedondo at Gridiron Academy in Ottawa, Ontario.

4) JOSHUA PALMER – 6’2, 200 REC (ONTARIO):

Last week, the 6’2, 200 pound receiver from Brampton, Ontario received his latest NCAA Division 1 offer from Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Fresno State Bulldogs, Bowling Green Falcons, Purdue Boilermakers, Maryland Terrapins, Syracuse Orange, University of Illinois Fighting Illini, University of Michigan Wolverines, University of Temple Owls, North Carolina State Wolfpack, Northern Illinois Huskies and Notre Dame Fighting Irish are among the other offers Palmer has received during his recruitment process.

Currently, the Ontario receiver is playing south of the border in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders. This past fall at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Palmer helped the Raiders win the Class 7A Florida state title as the Raiders crushed opponents Melbourne Viera 45-10.

Previous to the Raiders, Palmer has suited up for both the St. Roch Ravens of the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) and Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).

In 2014, Palmer participated in the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC), guiding the Team Halton-Peel to a 15-14 victory over Team West in the Varsity Game.

Terrell Jana CFC100 2017

5) TERRELL JANA – 6’1, 195 ATH (BRITISH COLUMBIA):

Last month, the 6’1, 195 pound athlete from British Columbia declared one NCAA Division 1 school is a leading contender.

Virginia Cavaliers are ahead of the pack because of the proximity to home and his bond with the coaching staff.

Currently, Jana has six NCAA offers including ones from Ohio Bobcats, Nevada Wolfpack, Maryland Terrapins, Rice Owls, Old Dominion Monarchs and the Cavaliers.

Jana has also said that Boston College Eagles and Yale Bulldogs are among the teams interested that are close to making an offer for him.

The athlete plans to visit Maryland in the next couple of weeks.  Moreover, he is expected to make a decision by the summertime of where he will continue his gridiron career.

This past fall, Jana played south of the border for Virgina prep team, Woodbury Forest Tigers. In the 2015 season, he racked up 1082 yards on 32 receptions and scored 13 touchdowns in 10 games.

Previous to the Tigers, Jana suited up north of the border with St. Thomas More Knights of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA) where he received a Grade 11 Helmet in 2014.

During the 2014 campaign, Jana’s performance in regular season and playoff games caught attention as the BCHSFA recognized his efforts seven times as a BC High School Notable Performance.

Marc David Bien Aime CFC100 2017

6) MARC-DAVID BIEN AIME – 6’4, 330 OL (QUEBEC):

The 6’4, 330 pound offensive lineman from Montreal, Quebec has netted offers from NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams Toledo Rockets and University of Buffalo Bulls.

Additonally, he has interest from other NCAA teams including Michigan State Spartans and Penn State Nittany Lions.

Currently, Bien Aime is with CEGEP Division 1 team Montmorency Nomades.

Justin Sambu 2017 cfc 100

7) JUSTIN SAMBU – 6’5 275 DL (ALBERTA):

While he currently has no offers, that is expected to change for the 6’5, 275 pound towering defensive lineman from Cochrane, Alberta.

Sambu guided the Cochrane Cobras of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA) to the Provincial Tier 3 Championship in 2014.  It was the team’s second title in three years.

During his stint with the Calgary Lions of the Calgary Area Midget Football Association (CAMFA) in 2015, the 6’4, 230 pound defensive end from Cochrane, Alberta was named a league All-Star.

Not only has he excelled in football, but Sambu is also an established basketball player. He has suited up for his high school’s squad as a point forward.

8) DONTAE BULL – 6’8, 295 OL (BRITISH COLUMBIA):

The 6’8, 295 pound offensive lineman from Victoria, British Columbia has already received interest from NCAA Division 1 teams, University of Texas El Paso Miners (UTEP), North Dakota Fighting Hawks and Maine Black Bears.

Bull began his gridiron career when he was eight years old.

Since then, the 6’5, 275 pound offensive lineman has suited up for both the Gordon Head Raiders and Belmont Bulldogs of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).

Among the awards the towering Bulldogs lineman was won include five Defensive MVP honours, three Offensive MVP Awards and Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Hamada Kanaan 2017 cfc100

9) HAMADA KANAAN – 6’4, 305 OL (ONTARIO):

Another one with no confirmed offers as of yet, the 6’4, 305 pound offensive lineman from London, Ontario helped Central Catholic Crusaders of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA) to an OFSAA Western Bowl victory over Ottawa’s St. Peter’s Knights this past November.

This summer, Kanaan will compete with the varsity London Jr. Mustangs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Patrick Davis 2016 cfc100

10) PATRICK DAVIS – 6’5, 275 OL (QUEBEC):

The 6’5, 275 pound offensive lineman from Gatineau, Quebec makes his presence known on CEGEP Division 1’s Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars.

This past fall, Davis was selected as a CEGEP Division 1 All-Star.

Before the Cougars, the lineman played for local high school Polyvalente Nicolas-Gatineau.

During his career, he has represented his home province as a member of Team Quebec at previous tournaments including the 2013 Football Canada Cup in Moncton, New Brunswick.
