Dixon originally hails from Edmonton where he played at Jasper Place before making the move to Ottawa to play at St. Joe’s against American competition. The 6’3″, 205lbs athlete spent the majority of his time playing receiver, but also took a few reps under centre as well. He received his first and only NCAA offer from the Huskies on June 23rd, and after taking a month to deliberate, couldn’t pass up the chance to join the growing number of Canadian prospects in Connecticut.

The Huskies already secured the commitment of CFC60 Jonathan Senecal from the Class of 2020, and signed CFC60 Jack Zerigiotis this past cycle. In addition, CFC100 Hergy Mayala was recently selected 8th overall in the 2019 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders, and we could see the same fate for CFC100s Terrence Ganyi, Lwal Uguak and Kevens Clericus if all goes according to plan at UConn. While they’ll be happy with adding two more next cycle at the very least, there’s potential for more with offers outstanding for CFC100s Akheem Mesidor, Carter Hooper, CFC60s Malick Meiga and Christopher Fortin.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
