CFC Ranks: CJFL top 10 (2) “Rams and Wildcats look for real”

Calgary put a ‘strangle-hold’ on our top spot with a convincing victory over the visiting Thunder.  Two games, and two victories over teams from Saskatchewan is impressive.  The Edmonton Wildcats made the biggest jump in the rankings with a dominating victory over the Huskies.  The Langley Rams continue to be the story from the BCFC, with another dominating victory, and will make it a 3-team race down the stretch.  The OFC will get interesting this weekend when Burlington and London face off against one another.

1 [1]  Calgary Colts (2-0) PFC
Defeated Regina Thunder 52 to 35

Offense piled up 518 yards offense.  Key play came from linebacker Stephen Dereniwski, who picked off
Kyle Siemens and ran 64 yards for a TD to put the Colts ahead to stay at 37-32 with 10:33 remaining in the fourth quarter.

2 [3]  Langley Rams (2-0-1) BCFC

That puts him over 2,400 career return yards, setting a league record, formerly 2,393 held by former Vancouver Island Shark/Victoria Rebels player Jason Marsh, who played from 1997 to 2001.

6 [4]  Regina Thunder (1-1) PFC

Despite almost 500 yards of offense, turnovers were the difference in the loss to the Colts.

Defeated St. Leonard Cougars 27 to 7

“Beef nation” veteran running back Tyler Woldenberg-Puyda has already rushed more than 300 yards in the first 2 games.  Big test this weekend when the travel to Burlington to take on the Braves.

9 [7]  Burlington Braves (2-0) OFC
Defeated Twin Cities Predators 35 to 12

Burlington Brave player Shane Smiley proposed to his girlfriend at halftime…not something you hear as normal halftime speech, so we had to mention it.

Defense played as well as they have all year, and young QB Cam Bedore gets better with every game.
