CFC Prospect Game receiver feels right at home with MTA

MTA adds a local commit to their 2020 class.

During his recruitment, CFC100 Oliver Longpre, a slotback from Tantramar Regional High School, realized that he belongs with his hometown Mount Allison Mounties.

A resident of Sackville, New Brunswick, Longpre saw his high school career cut short after suffering an injury in his senior year. The event altered his perspective on his recruitment.

ā€œAfter my injury in the summer, I wasnā€™t too keen on going away for school anymore. I grew a strong relationship with the staff and coaches at MTA during my rehab process,ā€ Longpre says. ā€œI felt right at home in my hometown. Some of the players showed me love through that difficult time, and it made me love the school.ā€

He adds that, ā€œIt was one of the only schools that was willing to give me a shot after this terrible injury, and I want give back by going to the Lonely Bowl, and I believe we can.ā€

In terms of the coaching staff, Longpre says they arenā€™t merely coaches. ā€œThey really embrace you as a player and make you feel apart of the whole atmosphere,ā€ he explains. ā€œShout out to coach Colangelo. Heā€™s my guy.ā€
