CFC50 High School Players of the Week (5): Scheibler, Rondeau, and Belkosky honoured

Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) will be recognizing the top Canadian born high school players of the week. If you have a player who you think we should recognize each week for their performance, please email us their full stat line each week by Tuesday to the CFC Scouting Bureau.

CFC High School Players of the Week (5)

Offensive Player

Name: Sekina Scheibler
Position: Running Back
School Team: Fort Frances, MB
Year: Senior

L 37-15 v. St. John’s – Anytime a running back pushes in and around the 300 yard mark in a single game, people need to know about it. Last week, Scheibler, rushed for 295 yards on 30 carries, averaging 9.8 yards per carry. On the season, he has 1,787 yards rushing on 180 carries to go along with 14 rushing touchdowns.

Defensive Player

Name: Marc Rondeau
Position: MLB
School Team: Saint-Jean-Eudes, QB
Year: Junior

W 49-31 v. Roger-Comtois – Rondeau was once again all over the field as he had 11 solo tackles, 12 assists, 2 QB sacks, and 3 TFLs. For some linebackers, that’s a whole season in one game. Rondeau currently leads juv. div 1 with 54 solos, 46 assists, 2 QB sacks, and 15 TFLs.

 

Lineman

Name: Darian Belkosky
Position: DT, G
School Team: Korah Collegiate, ON
Year: Senior

W 42-7 (semi-final) v. White Pines – Belkosky team had an impressive win. This two-way conference player recently won the MVP of the League and will lead his team into the playoffs and potentially an OFSAA Bowl berth.

 

Criteria

This will be based off player’s individual and/or team performance using verified stats. The awards will include:

  • Offensive Player of the Week
  • Defensive Player of the Week
  • Lineman of the Week

The offensive and defensive players will be judged on their individuals stats while the linemen will be selected via a) stats for the defensive linemen and b) overall offensive team performance and number of total yards gained for offensive linemen. (We will include Special Teams players in honorable mentions should they gain our attention.)

Candidates must be attending and enrolled in an accredited high school program. This will not include Cégep players, they will be identified in a separate, but similar, format on a weekly basis.
