London recruit joins OUA team’s 2015 class.

The Guelph Gryphons recently announced the signing of CFC 100 Jessy Kocins to their football program.

Kocins, the 6’3, 215 pound defensive tackle from London, Ontario, will join the Gryphons for the 2015 OUA season.

“Jessy brings size, speed and toughness that are essential to dominate as a defensive linemen,” commented Gryphons Defensive Coordinator Kevin MacNeill.  “Jessy also possess outstanding character and work ethic that will help him make a great impact as a CIS student athlete.”

Recently, the defensive tackle completed his high school career with Central Elgin Titans of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA).  In addition to the Thunderbirds, Kocins also suited for the Forest City Thunderbirds of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).

Kocins is also ranked on the CFC 100.

Gryphons Defensive Line Coach Brian Cluff is looking forward to Kocins’ arrival as he will bring depth, talent as well as intangibles to the team.

“Jessy’s athleticism for a big man is incredible, his takeoff speed is exceptional and along with his physical size and strength he will be a force in the OUA,” said Cluff.  “I am very pleased to have Jessy join the Gryphon Football family and the Gryphon Football Defensive Line.”
