CÉGEP10 RANKINGS Week 2: Big changes at the top after second week in Quebec

1. Vanier Cheetahs (2-0)
The Vanier Chettahs took care of business in our CEGEP10 GOTW with a 29-16 victory over Garneau. CFC60 Kaylyn St-Cyr stole the show with a three interception performance including a pick-six.

2. Vieux Montréal Spartiates (2-0)
You can’t really call any early game season a shocker, but Vieux-Montreal made the loudest statement in week two by knocking off the defending champions from Champlain 30-18.

3. André-Grasset Phénix (2-0)
It’s another victory for Andre-Grasset, but this time they flipped the script with a gaudy running attack in place of their flat passing game. Tristan Toussaint ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns on just 13 carries.

4. Ch.-Lennoxville Cougars (1-1)
Nobody said it would be an easy road to another Bol d’Or, and Champlain hit their first stumbling block in a 30-18 loss to Vieux-Montreal. They waited in the weeds for most of last year, so maybe less recognition is the way to go.

5. Garneau Élans (1-1)
Garneau gave Vanier a good scare, but ultimately three interceptions would be too much to overcome in their 29-16 defeat. The positive is their defence came to play sacking Daniel Sanenes seven times, with CFC60 Ayman Cisse grabbing two.

6. Notre-Dame-de-Foy (1-1)
CNDF had to survive a shootout, but they’re in the win column after week two after defeating Levis-Lauzon 44-41 in a wild one. They displayed a steady attack with Raphael Latulippe throwing for 241 yards and a touchdown, while Alex Duff led the way in the backfield with 21 carries for 107 yards and a major.

7. Lévis-Lauzon Faucons (0-2)
No loss is easy, but it stings a little more when you fall 44-41 in a game neither team deserved to lose. A lot of positives to take out of week two however, with Fleix Corriveau catching four passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns, plus Gabriel Leblond gave them some much needed energy out of the backfield with 20 carries for 149 yards and three touchdowns.

8. Lionel-Groulx Nordiques (1-1)
They don’t ask how, they just ask how many. It wasn’t the prettiest of wins, but the Lionel-Groulx are officially in the win column after deafting Saint-Jean 11-10.

9. Saint-Jean Géants (0-2)
Last week the defence couldn’t keep it together, now this week it was the offence who pulled a disappearance act. It’s a rough start to the year for the Geants, but they’re going to annoy a few teams this year if they can put it all together.

10. Limoilou Titans (0-2)

Another week at the bottom for Limoilou after another 34-9 loss to Andre Grasset. They were handed a rough first two games, and should hopefully show signs of life against Levis-Lauzon this week. ec

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
