CÉGEP10 (coll. div. 1) RANKINGS (5): Movement stalls with some compelling matchups on deck

1. André-Grasset Phénix (4-0)
After a close call versus the Spartiates, Grasset got right back on track with another dynamic offensive performance hanging 57 on Saint Jean. They’ll need all systems go this week with a massive matchup versus Champlain on tap.

2. Ch.-Lennoxville Cougars (4-0)
The Cougars kept pace with Grasset after a sound win over Garneau this past week, and now it’s their chance to leap frog them in the standings and rankings with their biggest test of the year upcoming.

3. Lévis-Lauzon Faucons (3-1)
After a slow first half to start the year versus Champlain, it’s been non-stop offensive action from Lévis-Lauzon who once again dropped a 50 burger this past week versus Vanier. No jinx intended, but the Faucons have three very winnable games upcoming which should set them up pretty going into their week eight matchup with Grasset.

4. Vanier Cheetahs (2-2)
Vanier had their chance, but they couldn’t keep up with Lévis-Lauzon’s insane depth on offence. They’ll have no time to dwell though with a tough game versus Vieux Montréal this week, who they’re tied with in the standings.

5. Notre-Dame-de-Foy (2-2)
CNDF was able to get back in the win column with a convincing win over Limoilou, and they may have found a new horse to hitch their wagon to with a huge performance from quarterback Alexandre Naud. They’ll have one more week to tighten everything up before a week six matchup with Champlain.

6. Vieux Montréal Spartiates (2-2)
Vanier had their chance to jump in the standings and rankings last week, now it’s Vieux Montréal’s turn with the Cheetahs sitting in their cross hairs.

7. Limoilou Titans (2-2)
The Titans suffered a swift loss to CNDF this past week, but they’ll need to stay the course with some tough games versus Grasset, Vanier, Lévis-Lauzon and Champlain to end the year, which makes this week’s matchup with Saint-Jean a must win under any circumstances.

8. Garneau Élans (1-3)
Garneau simply hasn’t been able to hang with the big boys this year, but they have a chance to get back in the playoff hunt if they can pull off an upset over a rejuvenated CNDF.

9. Saint-Jean Géants (0-4)
Despite their record, Saint-Jean have had some impressive offensive outbursts this year, so while it’s a long shot with the Titans playing for their lives and some much needed momentum, don’t count out the Géants this week.

10. Montmorency Nomades (0-4)
0-4 is never a good look, but the Nomades are still showing some fight in the face of adversity. They couldn’t climb their way to a win over the Spartiates last week, but there’s still plenty of time left for them to affect the standings and rankings if they can embrace the spoiler role.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
