CEGEP recruit opts for Vert et Or (VIDEO)

CEGEP receiver/running back joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class.

When Guillaume Conraud-Ares was deliberating over which place he wanted to continue the next chapter of his gridiron career, it had to be somewhere he could excel on and off the field.

Recently, the 5’11, 190 pound receiver/running back committed to Sherbrooke Vert et Or.  Conraud-Ares will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.

“I committed to Sherbrooke because I got a better feeling about school,” explained Conraud Ares of his commitment.  “I will study in Law so it is important for me to perform in my program and I think that Sherbrooke can help me to achieve my success in school but also my success in my football career.”

“Sherbrooke has a very good team spirit and I like that; it’s like a family and I trust the coaching staff and they work hard for the good of the team.”

This past fall, the offensive standout helped CEGEP Division 1 team, Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars win the Bol D’Or Championship.  In 2015, Conraud-Ares amassed 556 yards on 35 catches and eight receiving touchdowns.  Additionally, he racked up 542 yards on 88 carries and five rushing touchdowns.

Previous to the Cougars, Conraud-Ares suited up for CEGEP Division 2’s Drummondville Voltigeurs as well as his high school team, College Saint-Bernard Senators.
