Carleton commit to Mom; “I’m going to make you proud”

Carleton adds a GTA commit to their Class of 2018.

Carleton Ravens fans, get ready for Ryan Gatchell, an offensive lineman from Royal Imperial Collegiate of Canada.

By Justyn White.

When Gatchell was browsing through schools, there was something about Carleton that stuck out to him. “I chose Carleton because I feel like I have the change to succeed there and they will help me achieve my goals of becoming a CFL player more than any other school,” he said. “The coaches are awesome, can’t wait to get to work.”

In his five-year career, Gatchell has played for the Monsignor Paul Dwyer Saints (Lake Ontario Secondary School Association) and the RICC Knights. The 6’3, 285lbs offensive guard is a two-time LOSSA champion. He also won an Eastern Bowl at OFSAA.

Gatchell, who is from Oshawa, Ontario, will be taking a General Arts program.

“Just want to give a quick shout out to my mom and say thank you for all you have done so far and that I’m going to make you proud,” Gatchell said. “Ravens’ nation, I’m coming.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
