Canadian Orlando Franklin projected 3rd round NFL draft choice (Videos)

Orlando Franklin just finished his senior year with the Miami Hurricanes. He was selected to the All-ACC second team (selected by a 61 member ACC media panel) and was ACC linemen of the week the last week of September. At 6’7″ and 310 lbs “Big O” has been projected between a 2nd and 4th round pick by various ‘experts’.

CBSsports.com has Franklin rated 71st and between a 2nd and 3rd round choice.

Draftcountdown.com
has him ranked as the 10th best Offensive Tackle.

Walterfootball.com has him being selected 84th.

Duane Forde
of TSN has him ranked as the top Canadian Offensive Linemen in 2011. As Duane mentioned, he qualifies as a non-import but would have to ‘re-apply’ after moving to Florida for high school, thus not showing up on CFL draft boards.

Orlando played his senior high school season at Atlantic HS in Delray Beach, Florida. In Canada Orlando played for the Scarborough Thunder minor football team. He moved to Florida early to give himself the best chance at a NCAA scholarship.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
