The 2017 gold medal game is a rematch of the 2010 and 2013 finals. Canada will look to avenge a pair of gold medal game losses on home soil.

The host nation will be in for a tough task as the US has yet to lose a game at the IFAF Women’s World Championship. So far in Langley, the US defense has yet to allow a single point scored against them at the 2017 tournament.

Canada had an outstanding defensive performance, including a pivotal opening series in which Canada was backed up deep in their own end following a Great Britain fumble recovery.

Emma Goldsney (Edmonton, AB) recorded an interception in the victory, earning Canada’s player of the game honours.
