Calgary Dinos in search of new assistant football coach

The Faculty of Kinesiology currently invites applications for a Regular full-time Assistant Football Coach.

This position reports to the Head Football Coach and the Director of Athletics, and will support the head coach in fundamental coaching and management tasks associated with running a university football program.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

β€’ Motivate and instill a desire to succeed and attain higher goals as a team and individual player
β€’ Plan for success through the facilitation of setting solid team and individual goals
β€’ Create a full seasonal plan, taking into consideration all aspects of conditioning, preparation strategies, conference/non-conference competition and academic requirements
β€’ General communication/teaching effectively
β€’ Promote student academic success
β€’ Aware of and working with all University, Canada West and CIS playing and award regulations
β€’ Support and deal with athletes in an honest, professional manner

Requirements:

β€’ Five years experience in coaching football at the college, university or professional level
β€’ Able to work and travel on evenings, weekends and holidays
β€’ An emphasis will be placed on individuals with past coordinating experience at the university or professional level
β€’ Effective teaching, and technical abilities as it relates to playing systems and strategies, skill development and biomechanics, and training methodologies
β€’ Strong personal effectiveness; approachability, positive attitude, integrity and able to instill trust
