Bulldogs split in Saturday OMFL action

ATOM
The brampton bulldogs continued their winning ways versus the mississauga warriors on Saturday at creditview field in west brampton. The home team took advantage of an early turnover off the opening kickoff and two plays later #15, Hunter Brown, ran the ball around the left side for a touchdown. The convert attempt was unsuccessful.

At 6:14 of the opening frame the home team scored again, this time #81, Deandre Rose scored the touchdown and #51, Demarr Ramsden ran in the 2 point convert.

The second quarter saw bulldogs #4, Melique McCalla, show off why he is considered one of the top running backs in the atom division. He had one long run called back on a holding penalty but later did score a touchdown. It was converted by #62, Mattais Salem. Ramsden scored the final touchdown of the half for the bulldogs.

The second half saw the bulldogs continue their pace and it was the offensive line who were creating big holes for the running backs. Second half scorers included McCalla and Ramsden. Unfortunately for the warriors it was a frustrating day which we hope they can turn the negative into a positive going forward.

BANTAM

The only score of the opening quarter was when #2, QB Bradley MacInnis, hooked up with #61, REC Frank Thorne for a 45 yard pass and run for a touchdown. Kicker #81, Riley Pilkey kicked the convert.

The cambridge lions continued to improve upon their early touchdown in the second quarter. A big catch by #28, Connor Pita, set up their second touchdown, this time a rushing TD by #33. Pilkey kicked the convert. The final score of the opening half was by #4, Kevin Pham.

The second half saw some great plays by both squads. The bulldogs star defensive player, with 2 interceptions, was #83, Dustin Harris. The lions had one more TD by Pham, and #39, Lucas Van Der Kooy. Brady Martindale converted one of the TDS.

NOTE: The bulldogs players and coaches showed great class and poise. We at CFC would like to commend them for their efforts and their respect for themselves and the game.
