Bulldogs JV hold on versus Huronia

The home team from Brampton scored early and often which proved enough when the final gun sounded. The first quarter saw the bulldogs accumulate a 20 to 0 lead.

At 9:06 of the opening frame, #12, Micheal Nelson scored a rushing touchdown for the home side. Kicker, #88, Baldeep Bathal converted the score.

Brampton then showed why their defense is considered one of the more opportunistic ones in the JV league. First, #18, Tomide Olaniyi, intercepted a stallion pass and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown. Bathal kicked the convert.

Only minutes later, a second defensive back converted an interception for a touchdown. This time it was by #14, Gideon Amoah. Amoah picked the pass off at his own 5 yard line and scampered 105 yards for the spectacular score. This was Amoah’s first of two interceptions and was our PLAYER OF THE GAME for his efforts.

Huronia showed great poise and never got down or started yelling and screaming (a lesson may coaches and players could learn from). A big catch by the stallions #18 set up their first touchdown, a rushing effort by #33 at 11:50 of second quarter.

The bulldogs scored one more touchdown before the half, this time #83, Jacob Hogan caught a seam pass for the score.

Good clock management by the stallions at the end of the half managed them another field goad to make the half time score 26 to 13.

The second half saw lots of action but only one more score, coming with 1.3 seconds remaining in the game. Interceptions, spectacular catches, and turnovers on downs hilighted the second half. Final score was 26 to 20.
