Provincial Flag champions at the U-18 level will be crowned this Sunday at Vancouver College in Vancouver, BC. This year’s U-18 provincial champion will go on to represent BC at the Football Canada National 5-on-5 flag football tournament at Dalhousie University in Halifax from June 22 – 25, 2011.
Next weekend, the Capital News Centre in Kelowna will host the provincial flag tournament for the U-12, U-14 and U-16 divisions. This year’s U-16 provincial champions will also go on to represent British Columbia in Halifax. BC finished with a silver medal at the 2009 U-15 national tournament and a bronze medal at last year’s nationals.
All in all, there are 57 teams with over 500 total players from across Vancouver, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, the Okanagan and North that are participating in Flag football this season.
