British Columbia recruit admires X-Men’s ‘thirst for greatness’

New Westminster defensive back joins AUS team’s 2015 class.

StFX X-Men announce the addition of Michael Adetola to their football program.

The 6’0, 192 pound defensive back from New Westminster, British Columbia will join the team for the 2015 AUS season.

“Michael is a rangy defensive back, we like his height and speed,” commented X-Men Offensive Coordinator Steve Snyder.  “Michael comes highly recommended from his coaching staff and after playing a year in the CJFL we feel he is ready to make the jump to the CIS.”

Recently, Adetola completed a stint with Valley Huskers of the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).  Previous to the Huskers, he suited up for New Westminster Hyacks of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).

For his part, Adetola felt that he could make the greatest, yet positive difference on the X-Men’s defensive unit.

“I committed to StFX because I believe it’s the place where I can make the biggest impact defensively and help shape the most dominant defenses in the league,” elaborated the British Columbia defensive back.  “The coaches impressed me with their confidence in the program and display all the values and attributes that I feel are going to be a huge part of the success of the team, along with their thirst for greatness.”

The X-Men are looking forward to welcoming Adetola into the fold.

“Michael has really shown us his passion for the game, and for StFX,” added X-Men Head Coach Gary Waterman.  “We can’t wait to get to work with him.”
